Description
LubriMax™ DF-50 Defoamer Fluid
Product Description
LubriMax™ DF-50 Defoamer Fluid is a 100% active, low-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) silicone fluid designed to control surface foam and support air release in compatible oil-based and non-aqueous industrial systems. Its 50 cSt nominal viscosity provides a useful balance of spreading, foam knockdown, and persistence, making it well suited for applications that require longer-lasting foam control than lower-viscosity silicone fluids.
DF-50 has low surface tension and readily spreads across foam films, helping destabilize bubbles and reduce troublesome foam during blending, circulation, pumping, and equipment operation. It contains no water or carrier solvent and can be incorporated directly into finished fluids or used in additive concentrates.
A typical starting treatment range is 10–100 ppm, or approximately 0.001–0.010% by weight. The optimum dosage should be established through testing in the finished formulation because performance can vary with base oil, additive chemistry, contamination, temperature, shear, and method of addition.
Key Benefits
- Effective Foam Control: Helps provide rapid foam knockdown and suppress recurring surface foam.
- 100% Active Silicone: Concentrated 50 cSt PDMS with no water or carrier solvent.
- Balanced Performance: Offers effective spreading with greater persistence than lower-viscosity silicone grades.
- Low Treat Rate: Designed to deliver foam control at relatively low addition levels.
- Broad Oil Compatibility: Suitable for evaluation in many mineral-oil, synthetic-oil, and hydrocarbon systems.
- Thermal and Chemical Stability: Maintains performance under demanding industrial processing and operating conditions.
- Easy to Incorporate: Low-viscosity liquid can be accurately metered into finished fluids or additive concentrates.
- Low Volatility: Helps support longer-lasting performance in industrial oil systems.
